-
Diverse Corporate Teams: Imagine a tournament competition with tennis teams composed of players from different companies and franchises in Atlanta. Last year’s participants included: Coca-Cola, Deloitte, GE Power, I Play Tennis, Mercedes-Benz, Pressley Tax Services, Tennis Warehouse, and Warner Media.
-
Players: Each team will have a roster of players affiliated with a company battling against each other to be crowned the “King/Queen of the Courts” in Atlanta. Each team must have at least 3 players each match that are current or former company employees. This is for fun & charity, so we’re asking all teams to monitor themselves to be sure requirements are met.
-
Playing Level: No matter what your experience in tennis is, you will have a chance to play. You may choose which subdivisions to play in, from Novice (C), Intermediate (B) and Advanced (A) draws.
-
Draws: Draws will have First Round Consolation. (A separate draw within the tournament for teams that suffer a first round loss in the tournament).
-
Match Rules: The tournament match play will be set up similar to USTA Leagues but with a World Team Tennis line up: two lines of singles (men’s and women’s singles) and three lines of doubles (men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles). Each line within a match will play an 8-Game pro-set.
-
Teams: Each team will be composed of 10 players: eight for the line up and two subs. The line up can be changed at any course of the tournament except when a match is in play. A player may not play in more than one line during a match (for example, the men’s singles player can’t play mixed doubles, women’s singles line can’t play in women’s doubles, etc).
-
Limitations: Each company is allowed a maximum of three teams to participate in the tournament, one for each playing level (novice, intermediate, advanced).
-
Food: Lunch will be provided for all participants Saturday and Sunday (8/17 & 8/18)
